| Scope
The Skin Forum
represents scientists from a diverse range of disciplines who share a common
interest in the physicochemical and biological properties of human skin. The
Forum originally evolved from an EPSRC Life Sciences Interface Network, the
primary aim of which was to promote a multidisciplinary approach for
investigating skin structure, function and interactions with xenobiotics.
Aims
The Forum
conducts formal one-day meetings and informal discussion groups to debate
current and future research in areas such as:
| • |
Skin
permeability |
| • |
Biophysical
techniques for examining the structure & function of skin |
| • |
Bioavailability
and bioequivalence issues |
| • |
Dermal,
transdermal drug design & QSAR |
| • |
In
vitro drug release from dermal & transdermal products |
| • |
In
vitro - in vivo correlations |
| • |
Alternative
models |
| • |
Non-invasive
drug monitoring |
The annual Skin
Forum meeting brings together internationally recognized experts to discuss such
topics and provides an opportunity for research students to meet opinion leaders
in a relaxed and informal manner.
